Hello everyone! I hope you are staying safe. When entering college and wanting to pursue medicine, many students think they have to pursue a major in a science, such as, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, etc for medical school. There is not a required major for pursuing medical school! As a pre-medical student, you are required to take the pre-requisites, consisting of 1 year of Biology with lab, 1 year of General Chemistry with lab, 1 year of Organic Chemistry with lab, 1 year of Physics with lab, 1 semester of Biochemistry, and 1 year of English. Aside from that, you can pursue any major of your choice and can still be admitted into medical school! With that being said, I highly encourage you all to pursue something you are PASSIONATE about, so you can enjoy your curriculum and earn extraordinary grades. What major are you pursuing? Do you have any passions that are not related to any sciences? I’d love to hear your thoughts and encourage diversity with this post!
