David Janiczek, M.D.

Hi everyone, my name is David Janiczek and for the 2021-2022 academic year, I am completing a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. I finished my residency in anesthesiology at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) in June 2021 where I served as one of the Chief Residents for the final year. Prior to residency, I was born and raised in Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa for my undergraduate education before obtaining my MD from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2017.  In my free time, I enjoy staying active, playing sports, and spending time with my wife Roxanne and our dogs, Charley and Quinn!

As the advisor for The Premed Scene, Dr. Janiczek is our consultant and runs our one-on-one mentorship program! In addition to being a physician, Dr. Janiczek has served on a medical school admissions committee and is also the Founder and CEO of Get Admitted MD, helping students all over the world get into medical school!
