Felix Morales, MD

Dr. Felix Morales is the Associate Dean of the Office of Admissions and Diversity at the School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center as well as an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Texas Tech School of Medicine. He attended Texas Tech University and Texas Tech School of Medicine and is a board-certified family medicine physician in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Morales is part of the Texas Tech Physicians Group as an Associate Professor and Family & Community Medicine physician and practices at the Texas Tech Physicians Medical Pavilion and his areas of interest include obstetrics.

David Janiczek, MD

Dr. David Janiczek is the founder and CEO of Get Admitted MD, helping students around the world get into medical school via his consulting nonprofit. Dr. Janiczek attended one of the top 30 medical schools in the country, the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, and is currently the Chief Resident of Anesthesiology at the University of Illinois-Chicago Department of Anesthesiology. He will be pursuing a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia this Spring and is a leading consultant for premed students, as well as The Premed Scene's Team Advisor, helping the team implement new programs and opportunities throughout different platforms.

Laura A. Schmidt, PhD

Dr. Laura Schmidt is a Professor of Health Policy in the School of Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco. She holds a joint appointment in the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies and the Department of Anthropology, History, and Social Medicine. Dr. Schmidt is also Co-Director of the Community Engagement and Health Policy Program for UCSF's Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Dr. Schmidt's central goal is to bridge the worlds of biomedical research, clinical practice, and population health in ways that help us better understand some of the most pressing issues in health and healthcare today: the widening of health disparities and the societal regulation risk factors in chronic disease. Her research program has been stably funded through numerous awards.

Greg Hartman

Greg Hartman serves as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center and is Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives for the Texas A&M University Health System. Hartman is a former health care executive with more than 30 years of experience and responsibility in executive management, strategy, health policy, marketing, communications, government relations, and philanthropy. Greg Hartman also served in a number of executive roles with Seton Healthcare, a $2 billion hospital system in Central Texas, including as CEO of the system’s two largest hospitals, overseeing academic and research programs affiliated with the University of Texas System.

Christina Wira

Christina Wira received her Bachelors in Neuroscience from Brown University and her masters in Clinical Outcomes Research from Darthmouth College. Having traversed the fields of Healthcare Consulting, Education, and Nonprofit Grantwriting, the whispered interest in a medical career was born after an autoimmunine diagnosis and eventually grew to a roar; she is now pursuing studies to apply and enter PA school. Her medical interests include primary care, medical education, and health policy. In her free time, Christina is an enthusiatic reader, recreational triathelete, and volunteer tutor. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and two children.

Elaine J. Schattner, MD, MA

Dr. Elaine Schattner is a journalist, speaker, and former oncologist who lives in New York City. She is completing a book on attitudes toward cancer to be published by Columbia University Press. Her work examines the intersection of U.S. cancer care and charity, news including social media, and patient advocacy. In 1993, she joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College. She also led an NIH-funded cancer immunology lab, authored scientific papers and lectured. A life-long patient with scoliosis, a history of early-stage breast cancer, arthritis and other chronic conditions, Dr. Schattner is a well-informed patient advocate who believes that all people deserve modern and compassionate health care.

D. Samba Reddy, PhD, RPh

Dr. Samba Reddy is a highly trained expert board-certified neuro pharmacist-pharmacologist developing new therapeutics for epilepsy and brain disorders. He is also a professor of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, where he directs a research team in central nervous system drug development. Dr. Reddy has made exceptional contributions to the pharmaceutical field through his services during the past 20 years, in addition to serving as an expert member in federal government panels in Washington D.C. Dr. Reddy also directs a Department of Defense project on post-traumatic epilepsy after traumatic brain injury.

Kate Roberts

Kate Roberts received a B.S. in Pre-Physical Therapy and minor in Performance Arts from Pensacola Christian College and an M.S. in Biomedical Science from Liberty University. She is the founder of the Non-Traditional Journal Club and is applying to medical school for the Fall of 2022. Kate interests include public health and the fight against pseudoscience. She is a scribe at a private practice retina clinic and enjoys hiking and cooking international food in her spare time. Kate is one of the leaders in The Premed Scene's Pre-Health Journal Club and is a nontraditional premed who worked in HR and is applying to medical school this cycle.
